Sunwing Airlines passenger carry-on and checked baggage allowance: Fee applied

Sunwing Airlines, a Canadian low-cost carrier, operates scheduled flights and charter flights to various destinations around the world. The airline offers affordable air travel options for passengers, but has specific baggage policies that travelers should be aware of before flying.

Hand baggage allowance: Weight and dimension allowance

Customers of this airline are allowed to board with one carry-on bag whose dimensions do not exceed 9″ x 11″ x 5″ (23cm x 28cm x 13cm), including handles and wheels.

Luggage should fit comfortably in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you. Sunwing Airlines does not impose any weight limit on carry-on baggage. However, passengers are advised to travel light as the Canadian operator reserves the right to charge a fee for overweight or oversized hand luggage.

– Carry liquids in hand luggage

Passengers are allowed to bring liquids in their carry-on baggage as long as they follow the TSA’s 3-1-1 rule. This means that liquids must be in a container of 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less of the size 20cm x 20cm, placed in a single transparent bag the size of a liter, and only one bag per passenger is allowed. The rates shown above are those to be paid online for the registration of the 1st and 2nd piece of luggage. It is possible to pay these fees at the airport by paying an additional $20.

Traveling with more luggage: Buy extras

Passengers wishing to bring additional checked baggage or over the weight or size limit must pay a fee. Fees vary depending on the destination, class of travel and when the fee is paid. It is advisable to check the latest baggage fees on the airline’s website or through its customer service.

Traveling with sports equipment

Sunwing Airlines allows passengers to bring sports equipment like Bicycle, Golfclub,Scuba Diving and Snorkelling, Fishing Rods, Kayak, Surfboards, Windsurfing Boards outside of their checked baggage allowance for a fee of $25 each way (for each piece of equipment).

Some examples of accepted sports equipment include golf clubs, skis, snowboards, bicycles and surfboards. It is advisable to contact the airline beforehand to ensure acceptance of the equipment and to know the applicable rates.

Restricted (prohibited) items in checked baggage

Baggage allowance for infants

Little travelers under the age of two and traveling without a reservation (on their parents’ lap) are entitled to a free allowance of 5kg (combined) of hand and checked baggage + two items to carry free of charge in the cabin (as a stroller or car seat or CARES).

Carriage of the two additional items is not possible on routes to/from Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.
