United Airlines launched the product to enhance its business class experience. The new product brought a new twist to the food and amenities offered in the cabin, and the first Polaris Lounge opened in Chicago. However, United have encountered difficulties in their efforts to develop this new flagship.
Despite the setbacks, the Polaris experience is worth diving into. The upgraded business class product and lounge is a much needed improvement over United’s previous reputation in the industry. Polaris lounges stand out, offering a significantly better experience than conventional United Clubs. With a focus on luxury and comfort, United’s Polaris product is a step in the right direction for a more upscale air travel experience.
United Airlines business-class seat has a width of 23 inches and a pitch range of 60-78 inches, with the bulkhead seats in rows 1 and 9 offering extra legroom. The seats are equipped with spacious footrests for comfortable movement of feet.
In terms of accessibility, every seat provides direct aisle access and the ability to be transformed into a lie-flat bed. If privacy is important to you, the odd-numbered rows are the way to go. The window seats are located directly next to the window, and the middle seats are set back from the aisle. Additionally, the odd-numbered middle seats are great for traveling with a partner, as they are parallel and right next to each other. If you’re traveling alone, you can use the privacy divider to create a more private experience.
Spacious leather seats guaranteeing absolute comfort for passengers
On the other hand, the seats in even-numbered rows face the aisle and do not offer as much privacy. Keep this in mind when booking your business class seat on United.
In addition to the comfortable seat, United has added a bar above the 16-inch inflight entertainment system. This bar allows passengers to stand up from their seat without disturbing those in front of them, making it a convenient feature for long-haul flights. Overall, the improvements to the business class seats on United have received great reviews and offer a comfortable and private experience for travelers.
Travel in style and comfort with United’s business class seats. Each seat boasts direct aisle access and transforms into a luxurious lie-flat bed, ensuring a restful flight. For added privacy, opt for an odd-numbered row where window seats are truly next to the window and middle seats are set back from the aisle. Traveling with a partner? The odd-numbered middle seats provide parallel seating for added intimacy. Solo travelers can also enjoy privacy with the option to raise the divider, even during takeoff and landing. However, even-numbered rows face the aisle and offer slightly less privacy. Book your business class seat on United and experience the ultimate in flight comfort and convenience.

A new tasty catering offered on board
United Airlines has improved its in-flight dining options with the launch of Polaris. Although the carrier is not yet on par with Singapore Airlines, the new options are a definite improvement.
– Snacks and desserts
For in-flight snacks, hot snacks are now only available upon request. The pre-arrival dessert was replaced with a biscuit, eliminating the pre-departure chocolate.
– Lower the costs
In order to reduce costs, starters will no longer be served on board, but rather served as they were prepared before the flight. In addition, the number of flight attendants will be reduced on certain aircraft.
New in-flight entertainment program and service
The United Polaris in-flight experience is enhanced by the 16-inch touchscreen monitor and accompanying remote control for easy entertainment selection. A variety of TV shows and movies are available to keep you entertained during long flights. Wi-Fi is also offered for those who want to stay connected, but it’s important to note that United does not use Gogo Inflight Internet.
United have taken the lounge experience to the next level
These lounges offer plenty of seating options, a new kitchen offering a tasty buffet with hot and cold dishes. Table service is also available for those who prefer to order from a menu. Currently, Polaris lounges are open at Chicago O’Hare, Newark Liberty, George Bush Intercontinental-Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington Dulles airports. Upcoming Polaris lounge openings are planned for London Heathrow, Hong Kong and Tokyo Narita, although exact opening dates have not been made public.
How to access the Polaris lounge: Which passengers are eligible to access this comfort zone?
If you’re looking to unwind in the luxurious surroundings of the Polaris Lounge, there are certain criteria that must be met. Access to this comfort zone is limited and reserved for passengers who meet specific requirements.
Departing Polaris First or Business Class passengers: If you’re flying in Polaris First or Business Class, you must be departing the airport on the same day to be eligible for access to the lounge. However, if you have a connecting flight, you can still visit the lounge on arrival or before departure.
Star Alliance Partner Flights: Passengers booked in Business or First Class on an international long-haul flight with a Star Alliance partner can also access the Polaris Lounge, but only if they are departing from that airport. Arriving passengers on a long-haul international flight are not eligible.
Marketing of Flights: It’s important to note that if United markets a flight as “United Business” rather than Polaris, you will not have access to the lounge, even if it’s an international flight. The same goes for domestic Business Class and First Class passengers, including those traveling to and from Hawaii, regardless of whether the flight is marketed as a p.s. (premium service) flight.
United Club Memberships: Unfortunately, United Club memberships do not give you access to the Polaris Lounge.
So, these are the criteria for accessing the comfort of the Polaris Lounge. Plan your travel accordingly and enjoy a premium experience.
