Aeromexico is highly unlikely to issue refunds for flights canceled by the passenger.
Cancellation within 24 hours
Generally, Mexican airline policy requires passengers to cancel their flights at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure in order to be eligible for a full refund. If the flight is canceled within 24 hours of departure, passengers are not entitled to any type of refund from the airline unless their fares include a refund option.
If a passenger has canceled their flight due to extenuating circumstances, they can contact Aeromexico customer service and attempt to appeal for a refund, along with their request with the necessary supporting documents. However, there is no guarantee that these requests will be accepted.
Change, transfer or cancel your reservation while retaining your right to reimbursement
Airline tickets issued by Aeromexico are non-refundable. However, it is possible for passengers to add the FLEX option when booking their flight in order to guarantee their right to reimbursement in the event that they are obliged to cancel their reservation before the departure date.
The FLEX option offered by the Mexican airline offers passengers greater flexibility than regular tickets and usually comes with additional features that could benefit travelers.
It is therefore possible to add the FLEX option when booking the flight regardless of the fare you choose: Basic, Classic, AM Plus, Premier, Premier Light and Premier One.

Other conditions to be met in order to be entitled to reimbursement:
– Aeromexico reminds its customers that only tickets purchased in Mexican Pesos MXN are refundable.
– The request for reimbursement must be submitted within twelve months of the date of the scheduled flight.
Flight canceled by Aeromexico: How to get reimbursed by the airline?
If your flight has been canceled by Mexico’s national airline and you have been refused any alternative routing solution, you can therefore ask it to offer you a refund. To do this, you must contact the airline directly, and the fastest way to do this is to use their online contact form.
– In the online form
In the first part of the form, choose “Complaint” from the drop-down list indicating the type of your request, and specify whether it concerns a domestic flight reservation.
Next, enter your ticket number and click Continue. Fill in the other fields of the form: Personal Details (Name, First Name, Email, …), Reservation number and flight number and date, departure airport and destination, … In the description box, write your reimbursement request letter and then once the form is completed, submit it in a click.
Once Aeromexico has reviewed your request, it will transfer the money to the credit card used for the purchase or to the payment method you used to book your flight ticket.
You can log in to your account at any time to track the status and status of your application online.
– Request a refund by phone: Contact Aeromexico Customer Service
To request a refund from Aeromexico over the phone, first call its customer service number: (55).513.340.00. You may be asked for your flight details and reservation number. Once you’re connected to an agent, tell them about your experience and why you’re requesting a refund. The customer service representative can guide you through the application process and answer any questions you may have.
If necessary, provide purchase receipts or additional information to help streamline the process. Follow the advisor’s instructions to complete the transaction.
