American Airlines: Register for TSA Precheck and benefit from a faster security screening process

TSA PreCheck is an expedited screening program that allows eligible travelers to pass through airport security checkpoints faster and with less hassle. It is available at over 200 airports in the United States. But who can benefit from it?

This program is intended for US citizens or legal permanent residents, knowing that they must have a criminal record containing no sanction (crime for example).

It is important to note that TSA PreCheck is accessible to certain other passengers (not meeting the conditions mentioned above) through its own program, called “TSA PreCheck expedited screening, which is accessible to American Airlines customers who are members of the AAdvantage loyalty program (who are Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive cardholders, including members enrolled in:

  • Global entry ($100 annual fees)
  • SENTRI ($122.25 annual fees)
  • NEXUS ($50 annual fees)
  • Fast ($50 annual fees)

If you are eligible to use this service, the phrase TSA Precheck must appear on your boarding pass.

Adding tsa precheck after check in?

If you did not add this service when booking your flight, you can still do so via the Manage Booking section. However, it is not possible to add it if you have already confirmed your registration.

What advantages and privileges for members?

It is important to note that even if you are eligible for the TSA PreCheck program, it does not guarantee expedited screening. You may still be subject to further screening if you are randomly selected or if security personnel have doubts about your travel documents or personal belongings.

With this program, travelers can keep their shoes, belts, light jackets and laptops in their bags and store their liquids and gels in carry-on luggage.

This program is designed to save passengers time and hassle by allowing them to pass through security checks quickly and efficiently.

Less than 5 minute wait

The program is easy to apply and offers many benefits, including expedited security screening and shorter wait times of no more than five minutes.

It is eligible for children

Passengers under the age of 17 can benefit from this program if they are traveling with an adult member of the TSA PreCheck program. The adult only needs to ensure that their TSA PreCheck number is entered into the reservation for all travelers.
